We are so glad that you have taken the time to visit our website and learn more about First Baptist Church of Oakville. We encourage you to visit our church next. The information here will help make your first visit meaningful and enjoyable. If you would like to talk to us in person, or if you have any questions that are not addressed here, please feel free to contact us. We hope to see you soon!
First Baptist Church is a faith family of people just like you. When you visit you’ll find friendly faces, practical, messages and excellent ministries for every member of your family.
Where is the church?
We are easy to find! We are located, in South St. Louis County, three miles south of the Telegraph exit from I-255, at the intersection of Telegraph Road and Heintz Road. There is a traffic signal at that intersection. Click here for a map.
Where do I park? Where do I go?
The best place to park if you are a guest is the front parking lot. Come into the building through the Worship Center entrance that faces Telegraph Road. Handicap parking spaces are clearly marked. As you enter the building, you will be greeted by one of our members at the door. They will be able to guide you in the right direction, or answer questions.
When are your services?
We offer two services each Sunday. Our Sunday morning service begins at 10:45 am. Our worship style is traditional, our praise music is blended, our people are cordial, and our sermons are Biblical and practical. Hearing assistance is available for this service.
Our Sunday evening service begins at 6:00 pm. It is anything but traditional! We meet in the Church Activity Center. People bring snacks and desserts that are shared potluck style in a time of “food & fellowship”. After everyone has been served, we enjoy a time of musical praise, followed by a message from our pastor.
Do you have Sunday School?
Yes! Small Group Bible Study begins at 9:30 a.m. with something for every age group. All classes meet on the lower level, except the Senior Adult class. Stop by the Sunday School office at the bottom of the stairs–they will assist you. (You will also pass the coffee pot, which is always available on Sunday morning.)
How do people dress at your church?
You’ll find some people wear suits or dresses, others are more comfortable in slacks or jeans. The important thing to remember about what you decide to wear on Sunday, whether formal or casual, is to feel comfortable with what you wear, and to feel welcomed!
What about my children?
At First Baptist Church, we LOVE kids! That’s why we’ve made it a priority to provide quality, high energy, and fun programming and events for children! Committed teachers come prepared to help kids, ages Birth through 6th Grade, experience God’s love through age-appropriate Bible studies, interactive games, and hands-on learning experiences that help them connect with Jesus. Kidz Praise is our children’s worship ministry during the morning worship service. Children in Action is our Sunday evening activity for children, preschool thru 5th grade.
A Claim card and password system is provided to assure that preschoolers are safe during Sunday School or the morning Worship Service.
When can I meet the Pastor?
Guests are encouraged to meet the Pastor following the Sunday morning service. He and his wife usually greet worshipers in the front foyer, as you exit the building. CDs of the morning message can also be requested at that time.
